PERFECT SKATING PROGRAM:
The BUILDING BLOCK of all On-Ice Movement. The Perfect Skating Program is a series of isometric platforms designed to enhance kinetic on-ice feel while discovering asymmetries in movement performance. Designed to focus on JOINT MOBILITY, JOINT STABILITY and WHOLE BODY ALIGNMENT, the Perfect Skating Program is built for athletes who are looking to restore Movement Efficiency while adding the performance gains of increased speed and agility.
The Perfect Skating Program is a yearly must for elite level athletes that are looking to produce quality on-ice movement. It is the program of choice for foundational joint functionality, muscle activation, micro limb mapping and proprioceptive reception. It truly is the building block of ALL ON-ICE MOVEMENT.
SMALL AREA MOVEMENT:
Win every loose puck, and dictate your skill. While movement pattern perfection is always at our core, the focus of our Small Area Movement program is to challenge the speed and timing of the movement pattern and applicable stick skills in a confined area or space. While challenging athletes in their most dynamic and explosive form, athletes are trained to re-map asymmetrical movement and skill patterns to improve their in-game performance. Read and react is slow, anticipate and dictate to reach your performance goals.
EVASIVE SKATING & CREATING SPACE:
Whether you are trying to get away from an attacking opponent or trying to open passing lanes to teammates, creating time and space is of the utmost importance. To be able to do this quickly and efficiently without losing the puck is a make or break situation. Evasive skating requires heightened proprioceptive awareness, which is the ability to sense the position and movement of one's body parts in space. Hockey players rely on this internal feedback to execute precise movements, such as quick turns and rapid changes in direction, while maintaining balance on skates and control of the puck. Situational awareness allows players to anticipate the positions and actions of teammates and opponents, facilitating strategic movements to optimize play and avoid checks.
Our Evasive Skating and Creating Space Specialty Clinic hinges on the integration of proprioception for spatial awareness, joint stability for controlled movement, explosive directional changes, and challenges your situational awareness for strategic playmaking.
STICKHANDLING, SHOOTING, & SCORING IN TIGHT:
Mastering stickhandling, shooting, and scoring in tight spaces is crucial for ice hockey players and demands a sophisticated blend of all our foundational movements and patterns. In confined areas, players must be able to execute precise stickhandling maneuvers while maintaining control of the puck AND navigate through defensive pressure. Our Stickhandling, Shooting, and Scoring in Tight Specialty Clinic will help develop a player's ability to control the puck, navigate small areas, and shoot under pressure.
BACKWARDS MOBILITY, BACKWARDS LINEAR, CROSSOVERS, & PIVOTS:
Mastering backwards skating—encompassing linear movement, crossovers, and pivots—is crucial in ice hockey for both forwards and defensemen. For defensemen, it ensures effective coverage of attackers, maintaining a defensive position while being able to quickly adjust to the opponent's movements. Forwards benefit from these skills by enabling swift transitions between offensive and defensive roles in all zones, allowing them to support their defense and block scoring chances. Proficiency in backwards skating also enhances overall balance, control, and strategic positioning, ensuring players can navigate tight spaces, maintain puck possession, and adapt to the game's dynamic nature efficiently. We’re thrilled to offer a key component of our Perfect Skating Program with an exclusive 60-minute session focused entirely on mastering this essential skill.
